β€œPatience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow – that is patience.”

… I really love that quote!! <goes to scribble it onto an index card and tape to my bathroom window>

Anyway…

It feels like an eternity has passed since I last posted. I apologize for such a delay. 😦 Life got a lot busier than I expected it to (the nerve). Not to mention that Facebook has this annoying habit of sucking people’s lives away. πŸ˜‰

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, then you know that when I’m gonna post something, usually I’ve thought about it for awhile. Alas and alack, I’m still in the ruminating stage of my blog-posting process. But! Know this, dear readers, more to come! Hopefully within a couple days, I’ll be able to coherently articulate everything that’s been swirling around in this chaotic brain of mine. πŸ˜‰

While all of you, in your benevolent patience, wait for me to get my butt in gear, here’s an amazing poem. I hope it can assuage your bored consciences.

… and that’s probably the most intelligent sounding post I’ve written in awhile. If ever. =P

Anyway! Without Further Ado.

Invictus, by William Ernest Henley. (Those of you who know me well can see one big reason why I like this poet) πŸ˜‰

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Every time I read it, it gives me chills. Thus it’s amazing. Not many poems can do that. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

… and! Because you know me oh-so-well, a song. For your listening pleasure.

Ttys.

Wow. O.o I haven’t posted a video in awhile. That needs to change. ;)

I discovered the amazingness of Red (I know what y’all are thinking: where have you been all this time? ;)) and felt the need to share it with thee. =P

Without further ado…

Already Over. πŸ˜€

*daydreams of black and red dresses*

This post is coming into existence for no other reason than for the fact that I love this song. πŸ˜‰ After much thinking and pondering(by much, I mean about… 15 seconds) I decided that even though this song has a great Tango flair, it doesn’t have the right beat. But it would make an AMAZING rumba. So there. πŸ™‚

Enjoy!

Because, if you hadn’t noticed yet, I like posting songs on my blog… ;)

I really like listening to this song when I’m having a hard day (like today). πŸ˜‰ It’s the message of this song that really gets me. Then again, that’s the thing that gets me about almost every song I listen to.

In light of that, here are the lyrics to the song as well. Cause they’re just that awesome. πŸ™‚

How do you know where you’re going
When you don’t know where you’ve been
You hide the shame that you’re not showing
And you won’t let anyone in
A crowded street can be a quiet place
When you’re walking alone
And now you think that you’re the only
One who doesn’t

Have to try
And you won’t have to fail
If you’re afraid to fly
Then i guess you never will
You hide behind your walls
Of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there’s something more
Than just knowing better
Your mistakes do not define you now
They tell you who you’re not
You’ve got to live this life you’re given
Like it’s the only one you’ve got

Memories have left you broken
And the scars have never healed
The emptiness in you is growing
But so little left to feel
You’re scared to look back on the days before
You’re too tired to move on
And now you think that you’re the only one who doesn’t

Have to try
And you won’t have to fail
If you’re afraid to fly
Then i guess you never will
You hide behind your walls
Of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there’s something more
Than just knowing better
Your mistakes do not define you now
They tell you who you’re not
You’ve got to live this life you’re given
Like it’s the only one you’ve got

What would it take
To get you to say that I’ll try
And what would you say if
This was the last day of your life

You hide behind your walls
Of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there’s something more
Than just knowing better
Your mistakes do not define you now
They tell you who you’re not
You’ve got to live this life you’re given
Like it’s the only one you’ve got

You hide behind your walls
Of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there’s something more
Than just knowing better
Your mistakes do not define you now
They tell you who you’re not
You’ve got to live this life you’re given
Like it’s the only one you’ve got

My mother taught me to share. ;)

Sigh. I feel bad that I didn’t do this sooner. In the last post I mentioned that I had downloaded Monster by Skillet, and it donned on me. “I should put it on the blog!”

So… behold! The amazingness that can only be Skillet. Monster. πŸ˜€

Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Drumroll, please. :)

I was absolutely ecstatic to find this new Skillet song!! It’s one of their bests songs ever, and I’m a huge Skillet fan. So my insides kinda melted when I heard this song. Now to survive until August so I can buy the album… πŸ˜‰

Anyway, here it is, in all it’s amazingness. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

From their new album Awake.

When you’re wallowing in self pity about how horrible life is…

… a sobering reminder of how stupid it is to complain and to be grateful.Β  Complaining earns you nothing; what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
